Cafe Europe is a news website targeting business people from all German-speaking countries. The basic problem was how to categorize and show the articles from different sections in two languages at the same time (without changing the language of the whole page). The majority of the target group speaks English fluently, so the news stories written by the English journalists, will be published in both German and English. Like every website with a large amount of content, CafeEurope needed to create a user friendly interface combined with minimalistic design to keep a high loading speed.
The design of Cafe Europe is minimalistic and fully responsive. The visual identity of this website is built on details and modern lines. In mobile and tablet view some categories were put into tabs to gain more space and clarity, without loosing quick access to all the important areas. Almost all the graphic elements are generated by CSS, which helps to minimize loading time. .
